One of the most noteworthy improvements in iVe version 2.4 is the ability for users to view license-specific hardware inventories for each of the iVe licenses assigned to them. It is worth taking a moment here to better explain what that means, and how it looks in iVe.
When logged in, clicking the user name in the upper right opens a dedicated pane with account-specific iVe settings, to include the associated license ID number and expiration date.
Seasoned iVe users may recall that the user-specific settings were previously accessed in the user profile window, while the license ID information was only viewable in the ‘Help’ menu. However, the new pane ties all the user-specific settings and information together in one cohesive access point.
More importantly, however, iVe now allows the signed-in user to view an inventory of hardware items that specifically apply to the license number. Gone is the old, generic PDF inventory that applied to all users in varying degrees, depending on license issued and expiration dates. Now the user may click the license number in the pane at right to see an inventory list of his or her specific hardware components in a separate window.
Click the arrow next to an individual item in the inventory to view details about its release date and any sub-components that may be included.
The new iVe Hardware Case is specifically designed to store hardware kit contents in a highly organized manner, the customized, detailed inventory in iVe Software – and now in iVe Mobile as well – can also help improve hardware organization down to each explicit detail. The iVe Ecosystem has grown over the years to the point that a need for organization has become critical, and we are making multiple, considered adjustments to meet this need. We know it is important for users to have peace of mind that all kit items are present and in their place before heading into the field.
iVe Software version 2.4 is one step in a larger effort to improve the user experience and make the iVe Ecosystem more user-friendly. In future releases we will no doubt take further strides toward this ongoing goal. As always, we appreciate receiving your feedback and suggestions to help inform our decisions on future software improvements.
